Senior Software Engineer in Test: Galway - Ireland | 450€/day | Hybrid | Contract

If you're a Senior Software Engineer in Test looking for a contract where you can work across both Front End and Back End testing in a modern tech environment, this opportunity with a leading financial services client might be a great fit.

They're looking for someone who can work across both UI and API testing. TypeScript is the preferred language, but if you don't have experience with it, Java is still very relevant in the environment.

They've been migrating toward a TypeScript-based solution across the board, though that transition isn't fully complete yet. Both languages are part of the ecosystem, and while you don't need deep expertise, having beginner to intermediate (3.5 - 5 yoe) experience in either is ideal.

What we're looking for

• UI testing experience with Selenium, Cypress or Playwright
• API testing using Karate (similar to REST Assured) or REST Assured itself
• Solid understanding of SQL - not as a developer, but with strong query and data validation skills
• Programming experience in TypeScript is preferred, but Java is also important
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks like Cucumber, TestNG, SoapUI
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and CI/CD tools like Jenkins and AWS
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently

Nice to have

• Experience with Spring Boot, Angular, Storybook
• Understanding of BDD practices
• Ability to contribute minor features in mid-tier or UI
