We are recruiting on behalf of Bradford Council for skilled practitioners to work across Children in Care services. Successful candidates will be interviewed and placed into a suitable team based on experience and service need, as determined by Service Managers. About the Role As a Senior Social Worker within Children in Care, you will manage complex caseloads, lead on permanency planning, and deliver high-quality, child-centred practice. This role offers hybrid working, with flexibility balanced against service and team requirements. This 13-month contract provides stability, competitive pay, and the opportunity to work within supportive and experienced teams. Key Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive assessments and develop outcome-focused care plans
• Manage and lead complex cases involving children in care
• Progress permanency planning, including long-term placements and court work where required
• Work effectively within multi-agency partnerships (education, health, safeguarding, legal services)
• Provide mentoring and guidance to less experienced social workers
• Maintain accurate, high-quality case recordings in line with statutory requirements
• Ensure all interventions promote safeguarding, stability, and positive long-term outcomes

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
• Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Services
• Strong background in Children in Care or safeguarding teams
• Confident managing complex cases and court proceedings
• Excellent assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Flexibility to attend the office when required
