Senior Quality Manager
Location: Tilbury / Hybrid
Salary / Benefits: Competitive base salary negotiable depending on experience, plus benefits including annual bonus, hybrid working, travel allowance, pension contribution, private healthcare, among others.
Summary:
An opportunity for an experienced Quality Manager has arisen with a major Global Infrastructure contractor in the London / Essex area to work on a newly awarded £230m tunnelling contract in the UK.
The project involves constructing a 2.2km high voltage (400kv) cable tunnel, including two 35m deep shafts (15m and 12m diameter), headhouses, and Cable Sealing End (CSE) compounds.
The Role:
You will lead the Quality Management system, manage and deploy it independently to ensure high performance, and engage with other departments. You will promote a first-time quality ethos and operational excellence.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage the project's Quality Management System, ensuring digital construction and lean digital processes are implemented.
- Support innovation initiatives, identify new opportunities, and lead when required.
- Communicate, promote, and enforce the Employer's Requirements for Quality Management in line with FC's QMS and the client.
- Facilitate and conduct quality sessions with project teams and suppliers.
- Coordinate with the Employer's Quality representative and organize quality events.
- Advise the Project Management team on quality procedures.
- Monitor compliance with the Quality Management Plan, supported by the Quality Advisor.
- Develop and implement an effective audit program with qualified auditors.
- Promote continuous improvement and the 'Right First Time' approach.
- Own and deploy the project CDE and Field Systems.
- Conduct management reviews as required.
- Develop and execute the Ferrovial Construction and Project Quality Engagement Plan.
- Analyze non-conformity trends and implement corrective measures.
- Manage the project's Quality Management System and KPI reporting.
- Ensure compliance with FC processes and establish signatory matrices.
- Promote regular quality reviews with the project team.
- Assist in producing certificates of compliance and ensure requirements are met.
- Initiate and address HAZOP studies.
- Promote company values in all dealings.
- Digitize and correctly implement quality processes.
Skills and Competences:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
- Excellent communication skills across various levels.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience developing Power BI dashboards or digitalizing quality processes.
- Experience working on large infrastructure projects.
- Proven management of interdisciplinary teams.
- Leadership, problem-solving, and efficiency skills without compromising quality.
