About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior PMO Support Officer to join a high-profile programme within a major UK public sector organisation. This role sits within a central change function, supporting the delivery of complex, large-scale transformation initiatives.

You'll work closely with Programme and Project Managers, providing critical PMO services to ensure effective governance, reporting, and delivery assurance across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide end-to-end PMO support across programmes and projects
  • Lead on planning, tracking, and dependency management
  • Own RAID management and drive proactive risk and issue resolution
  • Produce and analyse high-quality reporting, challenging data where appropriate
  • Support financial tracking, budgeting, and forecasting activities
  • Define and monitor KPIs and performance metrics
  • Ensure adherence to governance frameworks and change control processes
  • Act as secretariat for governance forums (board packs, minutes, actions)
  • Engage with stakeholders across all levels, providing insights and updates
  • Deputise for Project/Programme Managers when required
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in a PMO role on complex, enterprise-scale programmes
  • Strong background in governance, reporting, and assurance
  • Experience with RAID, financial tracking, and portfolio reporting
  • Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Confident communicator, able to challenge stakeholders constructively
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience producing senior-level reports, packs, and presentations
  • Advanced MS Project and Excel skills
  • Experience with enterprise PPM tools (e.g. Planview, Oracle, Changepoint)
