About the team you'll be part of
This role is within Ofcom's People, Culture and Workplace (PC&W) team, supporting organizational strategy, capability, and cultural transformation to meet our regulatory objectives. The purpose and scope of the role
This role serves as the People Partner for 1 or 2 of our groups, ensuring effective operation and alignment with organizational strategy, and supporting leadership teams in their daily management.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Group Directors to develop and implement cohesive people strategies, tools, and frameworks.
- Align people priorities with organizational strategy in collaboration with Directors.
- Lead organization design initiatives to support business plans and promote career mobility.
- Create and deliver People Plans, identifying themes and barriers for continuous improvement.
- Understand team strategies and proactively identify people-related opportunities and challenges.
- Coach leadership teams on management and leadership styles.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and prioritize work effectively.
- Identify and address barriers to organizational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with PC&W teams to develop and refine people strategies, providing insights and building relationships.
- Ensure key people processes like workforce planning, talent management, pay reviews, and performance management are effectively executed.
- Oversee risks and mitigations related to your groups at the SMT level.
- Lead or support organizational change projects as needed.
The skills, knowledge, and experience needed for success
- Experience partnering at a senior level on people initiatives across the employee lifecycle.
- Proven ability to develop and execute People Plans.
- Strong commercial acumen and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, capable of coaching and influencing at all levels.
- Experience working collaboratively with Centers of Excellence and managing contracting conversations.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and experience supporting business readiness.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and challenge leadership appropriately.
- Confidence in horizon scanning and strategic thinking.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, adaptable to various audiences.
