Senior Payroll Specialist

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Senior Payroll Specialist located in Cork, Ireland.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Payroll Specialist role involves managing end-to-end payroll processes (weekly, 4-weekly, and monthly), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely employee payments. You will work closely with Finance, HR, and external payroll providers, playing a key role in delivering a smooth and compliant payroll experience for employees.
What a typical day looks like:- Manage and process weekly, 4-weekly, and monthly payrolls accurately and on time
- Prepare, validate, and submit payroll data to external payroll providers, ensuring timely approval and sign-off
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure correct employee payments and payroll disbursements
- Act as a point of contact for payroll-related queries, providing clear and professional support
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, tax requirements, SOX controls, and audit standards
- Support month end close activities and resolve audit queries in a timely manner
- Collaborate closely with Finance, HR, and third party providers to ensure seamless payroll operations
- Proactively manage workload and meet strict payroll deadlines
- Stay up to date with local payroll legislation and regulatory changes in Ireland
- Typically requires a relevant qualification in Payroll, HR, or Accounting Technician discipline is preferred
- At least 3+ years of payroll experience, ideally in a multi cycle payroll environment
- Strong knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and Time & Attendance systems
- Experience working with external payroll providers is an advantage
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across teams and stakeholders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self motivated, well organized, and able to manage priorities and deadlines effectively
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
