Job Description

Based at our office in Kirton Holme, Lincolnshire (PE20 1TW), with regular travel to client sites as required.

Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm. Some flexibility is required and can be offered.

We are a growing HR consultancy providing practical, commercial and people-focused HR support to a diverse range of clients. We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior HR Advisor who is looking to take the next step in their career. Working within our HR consultancy team, you will provide expert HR support to a diverse range of clients, managing complex employee relations matters, delivering HR projects and developing trusted advisor relationships with stakeholders. You will also play a key role in supporting and mentoring colleagues within the wider Client Partnership team.

This role is ideal for an ambitious HR professional who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to broaden their consultancy skills while building experience across multiple sectors and client environments. Experience within the public sector would be advantageous, although it is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Case Management

  • Lead and manage complex employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management, performance and conduct matters.
  • Conduct investigations and support formal hearings where required.
  • Support the management of complex employment disputes, including preparation of case documentation and chronologies, and support for ACAS Early Conciliation matters where required.
  • Liaise with external legal advisers and employment specialists and assist with employment tribunal preparation support, including document collation and case administration where required.
  • Provide practical, risk-based advice that balances legal compliance with commercial outcomes.
  • Draft comprehensive HR documentation, reports, KPIs and outcome letters.

Client Advisory Support

  • Act as a trusted Senior HR Advisor to a portfolio of clients.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and develop a thorough understanding of their businesses and workforce challenges.
  • Provide proactive HR guidance and identify opportunities to add value.
  • Support clients with day-to-day people management issues and strategic HR initiatives.

Consultancy & Project Work

  • Support the delivery of HR consultancy projects including organisational change, restructures, TUPE, policy reviews and workforce planning.
  • Assist with presentations, workshops and client training sessions.
  • Contribute to business development opportunities and client retention activities.
  • Identify and implement improvements to internal processes and service delivery.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and day-to-day guidance to other members of the Client Partnership team, supporting their professional development, building capability and ensuring consistency in service delivery.
  • Share knowledge, best practice and technical expertise across the team.
  • Assist with quality assurance and review of HR documentation.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team culture.
About You
  • Significant experience in a Senior HR Advisor or equivalent HR generalist role.
  • Strong employee relations experience, including managing complex and sensitive cases.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience advising managers and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong written communication and report writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness and problem solving capability.
  • A proactive and flexible approach with a willingness to support the wider team.
  • Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience using HR information systems, case management tools and Microsoft Office, with strong attention to detail and experience maintaining accurate client records and documentation.
  • Professional confidence and credibility when advising clients and stakeholders.
  • Sound judgement and decision making capability.
  • Resilience, discretion and emotional intelligence when managing complex and sensitive situations.
  • Ability to adapt advice and communication style to different sectors, organisations and client cultures.
  • Experience within the public sector.
  • Experience supporting organisational change, restructures and TUPE processes.
  • Experience delivering training or facilitating workshops.
