We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety Business Partner within our Amey Complex Facilities - Justice Sector. This is a remote role that will require regular travel across Wales, Midlands, and the North of England.

The standard hours of work are 37.5, Monday to Friday.

As Health & Safety Business Partner within the Justice sector, you will join our vibrant, inclusive community in Amey Complex Facilities, reporting to our HSEQ Director and becoming a key member of our Business Units' HSEQ Leadership Team.

Within our Justice Sector, we partner with clients including the Ministry of Justice (MOJ), HM Courts & Tribunals, and Her Majesty's Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), managing high-profile sites and providing services supporting the UK's justice system. Key services include responsive asset maintenance, statutory and mandatory planned maintenance, notifiable construction projects, and energy/decarbonisation schemes.

What you will do:

  • Support the BU HSEQ Director and HSEQ Leadership team in delivering HSEQ excellence across the organization.
  • Ensure the Sector fully complies with all UK HSE legislation by developing and adopting Amey's Health & Safety requirements.
  • Uphold and promote Amey's core value of 'safety first, always'.
  • Develop and implement the sector's annual HSEQ strategy to improve performance, aligning with BU & Group HSEQ objectives.
  • Implement robust assurance regimes to monitor HSEQ performance and develop improvement plans for deficiencies.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders (clients, supply chain, senior leadership) to drive HSE standards.
  • Innovate safety engagement methods and participate in cross-party working groups to enhance performance.
  • Support sector investigations and disseminate lessons learned from incidents.
  • Engage regularly with operational site teams.
  • Assist the Sector Business Director & Senior Management Teams in implementing HSEQ responsibilities.
  • Line manage a team of 4 Safety Professionals.
  • Support work-winning activities.

What you will bring:

  • Level 6 H&S qualification (or equivalent) minimum.
  • Proven experience in senior HSEQ roles across multiple sites.
  • Ability to influence and foster a positive safety culture.
  • Excellent team management skills.
  • Drive, enthusiasm, and passion for HSEQ improvement.
