An opportunity has arisen to recruit a high calibre Ortho-Plastic Hand Fellow.

You will join a large multidisciplinary Orthoplastic Hand & Wrist Team consisting of Consultant colleagues, Hand Registrar, Hand Surgery core trainee, Advanced Practitioners and Specialist Nurses in Hand Surgery.

The unit has a strong track record in higher level teaching and training for hand surgery.

Post-CCT doctors will be desirable, there is independent clinic and theatre activity within the post.

There will be a teaching and research commitment.

There will be an expectation to provide out of hours Hand Surgery clinic/theatre and manage hand trauma as well as elective hand surgery.

The post is useful for those undertaking a diploma in Hand Surgery (BSSH or FESSH). Hand Surgeons from either a Plastic or Orthopaedic background are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will be based at Salford Royal Hospital, Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) with elective lists predominantly at Rochdale.

The candidate will be expected to integrate within the team of existing consultants, specialist registrars, Trust Grade Doctors and Orthopaedic advanced Nurse Practitioners in order to provide a complete Trauma and Orthopaedic service.

The main focus of the job role is in assisting the Consultants in the delivery of Hand Surgery.
