Job Description

Job Title: Senior Assessment Manager, Primary & Secondary (Science)

Salary: £45,100-£60,400 per annum

Location: Cambridge, Hybrid (2-3 days per week in Cambridge)

Contract: Full time, fixed term until 14 Jan 2028

Start date: Ideally July 2026

This role offers the opportunity to drive critical assessment products for primary and lower secondary learners globally. You will work alongside development teams to design, deliver, and oversee the assessment lifecycle and curricula, ensuring rigorous quality and fairness across all materials.

About the role

You will be one of our subject specialists in Primary and Lower Secondary, signing off question papers and managing the full assessment lifecycle for multiple exam series. Your responsibilities include:

  • Designing and reviewing syllabuses in collaboration with development colleagues.
  • Producing accurate, error free question papers and setting grading thresholds.
  • Ensuring consistency and fairness across series and years and maintaining equity for candidates from diverse backgrounds.
  • Recruiting and managing Assessment Specialists, including Setters, Revisers, Vetters, and Principal Examiners.
  • Leading team capacity building and collaborating with ministry partners worldwide to develop and revise syllabuses.
About You

We expect you to hold a degree in Science or a closely aligned subject, with excellent English literacy and experience in education assessment or project management. Additional qualifications or experience as an examiner are advantageous. Prior teaching experience or knowledge of international education is desirable.
