SEND Teaching Assistant

SEN Teaching Assistant (Secondary) - Nuneaton

Location: Nuneaton
Contract: Full-time / Part-time (term-time)
Start Date: As soon as possible (or specify)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for secondary students with SEN (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties)
• Support students in accessing the secondary curriculum across a range of subjects
• Assist students with emotional regulation, engagement, and behaviour management
• Encourage independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours
• Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Support students during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times where required

The Ideal Candidate Will

• Have experience working with secondary-aged students, ideally with SEN
• Be patient, resilient, and understanding
• Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Be able to adapt support strategies to meet individual needs
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
