SEND Learning Support Mentor Full-Time Immediate Start

Protocol Education are currently recruiting for a SEND Learning Support Mentor to join a specialist school in Basildon. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.

About the role

You will be working closely with students who may have:

• Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
• Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
• Autism (ASD)
• Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

Your role will involve supporting students to access learning, develop independence, and feel safe and supported throughout the school day.

Who we're looking for

We welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds, including:

• Healthcare and social care
• Residential or support work
• Youth work or mentoring
• Personal experience supporting individuals with SEND

No school-based experience is required - the school values empathy, reliability, and a proactive attitude above all else. You should also be comfortable supporting with personal care where needed.

• Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Confident supporting children with complex needs
• A team player who works well within a supportive environment

Role details

• Full-time, Monday to Friday (08:30 - 15:30)
• Long-term role with potential to go permanent
• Based in Basildon

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
