We are recruiting on behalf of a brand-new specialist SEN school opening in Barnsley this September. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a new setting from day one and play a key role in creating a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for children with a range of additional needs.
The school is part of a highly respected multi-academy trust with a strong reputation for delivering outstanding support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The RoleAs an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support students with a range of additional needs, including Autism, Communication and Interaction needs, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
- Work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver personalised learning and intervention programmes.
- Build positive relationships with pupils to support their emotional, social, and academic development.
- Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
- Help create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment.
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Have previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
- Ideally have experience within a specialist SEN school, provision, resource base, or similar setting.
- Be patient, resilient, and committed to supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
