SEMH Support Worker - Scunthorpe (Secondary & Specialist Settings)
Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Support
Location: Scunthorpe
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Salary: £475 - £550 per week (DOE)
About the Role
Join a specialist SEMH provision dedicated to supporting young people who face emotional, behavioural and mental health barriers to learning. Each day brings the opportunity to rebuild confidence, develop resilience and help pupils re-engage positively with school life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide structured 1:1 or small-group support
- Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour
- Encourage self-esteem and resilience
- Support behaviour intervention plans and restorative approaches
- Maintain consistent routines that help pupils feel safe
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with SEMH pupils (school, youth work or similar)
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Resilient, calm and able to build trusted relationships
- Commitment to safeguarding and trauma-informed support
