Information about the role

An excellent opportunity has arisen to play a key role in a unique team, supporting the work of Counter Terrorism Policing.

In this role you will:

• Promote good practice in protective security at the customer level.
• Support the Head of CTPNE in Counter Terrorism matters in line with the Anti-Terrorism Crime and Security Act 2001, relevant legislation and respond to nationally tasked initiatives from HM Government through the National Counter Terrorism Security Office.
• Deliver tactical and strategic advice to Local Authorities, promoting Protect and Prepare Activities to keep people safe.

A day in the life of a CTSA can vary, but one of our existing CTSAs describes it as follows: 'Most days involve a visit to a site to meet with Security leads and relevant partner agencies. These may be regular visits to support ongoing activity, and we sometimes attend events to observe security in practice. I will then be required to produce reports documenting this work, and maintain accurate records of this. There is also a big emphasis on training and development, which may be achieved through formal courses, or through coming together with the team to share good practice and discuss challenges.
