Blue Forge Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading Retail Convenience Forecourt Group. This is a well regarded and forward thinking retail brand known for its strong operational policies and commitment to best practices, ensuring consistent performance and a healthy work environment.
The store is a compact yet well equipped convenience outlet, with modern specs. Its Deli and fresh food grab & go makes up almost 50% of the store's sales and is staffed by a team of up to 10. With a strong emphasis on fresh food and customer service, the store is a vibrant part of the local lunch trade in the area.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced catering manager, senior Deli Manager or senior fresh food manager who is hands on, strategic and commercially acute to drive business performance. You will gain valuable experience in back office operations, strengthen your leadership skills, and take pride in the success of the store under your guidance.
43 hour contract, including bonus, staff discount, VHI scheme, pension, and more. Typical hours: starts early 5.30 6am, finishes around 3 or 4pm.
Salary from €40 000 including bonus, staff discount, and pension.
Key Requirements for this Retail Deli Manager Job- Proven supervisor or manager experience in a hands on, fast paced, fresh food customer facing environment
- Expertise in fresh food stock control, with the ability to manage and place accurate catering and deli orders across a wide range of fresh food products
- A strong eye for detail and a commitment to excellence in customer service, hygiene, and the presentation of fresh food displays
- Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage time and priorities effectively in a dynamic environment
- Confident in leading, motivating, and delegating to a team, able to give clear direction while fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture
- A proactive self starter who thrives both independently and as part of a team
- Fully competent in food safety procedures and HACCP compliance, with a strong understanding of best practices in a food handling environment
- Take ownership of day to day operations across multiple deli functions, including some readymade meals production, hot and cold food counters, and the salad bar
- Lead, manage, and support a team of 7 10 staff members; effectively organise workloads to ensure timely completion of all tasks
- Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels for weekly trade, using digital tools and sales data to drive smart ordering decisions and minimise waste and shrinkage
- Ensure strict compliance with all food safety and hygiene protocols, including accurate upkeep of HACCP and hygiene records
- Uphold and enforce the highest standards across all fresh food areas, clearly communicating expectations and holding the team accountable for consistent performance
- Train, coach, and develop staff members, fostering a culture of excellence, boosting productivity, and enhancing the overall customer experience
