Job Description

Sellick Partnership is excited to be working with a Legal 500 ranked firm who are looking for a Residential Development Solicitor to join their team in Manchester.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advise housebuilders, developers, landowners, and housing associations on all aspects of residential development projects.
  • Manage acquisitions and disposals of development land, including conditional contracts, options, and overage agreements.

  • Draft, negotiate, and review legal documents such as development agreements, planning agreements (Section 106), infrastructure agreements, and easements.

  • Support clients through the full development lifecycle, from site acquisition and planning to plot sales.

  • Handle legal due diligence and title investigations for land purchases and disposals.

  • Coordinate with planning, construction, and corporate teams to provide joined-up legal support on development schemes.

  • Assist with setting up sites for residential sales, including drafting standard contract packs and managing plot sales.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing responsive, commercial, and solution-focused legal advice.

The successful candidate:

  • 3 + years PQE with strong experience in residential development law.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to manage a busy caseload and work to tight deadlines.

  • A proactive and client-focused approach.
