IntroductionThe RECREATION & ACTIVITIES CO-ORDINATOR supports adults with severe or profound intellectual disabilities and additional support needs living in the service. They help residents achieve a good quality of life through comprehensive programmes that allow choice, control, social, cultural, recreational fulfillment, personal relationships and community links.
The focus is within a social model of care and support, ensuring that each adult has opportunities to participate in meaningful activities, appropriate to his/her interests, preferences and needs.
ResponsibilitiesSupport and coordinate recreation, activities and therapeutic programmes for adults with severe or profound intellectual disabilities, ensuring activities are tailored to each individual's interests, capacity and needs.

- Minimum desirable requirement: FETAC Level 5 certificate, preferably in healthcare, community care or care for people with disabilities.
- Experience supporting adults with profound disabilities.
- Experience and understanding of HIQA regulations.
- Activities, Leisure and Therapeutic Therapy diploma/degree desirable.
- Full clean driver's licence is essential.
