Job Description

Job Title: Quality Engineer (On Site)
Location: Skelmersdale (WN8)
Salary: £45,000 - £47,344 (DOE)
Shifts: Mon - Fri (37.5hrs per week)
Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (PAYE)

We are currently recruiting an experienced Quality Engineer for our client, who specializes in manufacturing precision products for high-profile clients and projects.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for initiating and performing quality activities that lead to new or improved processes or systems.

Responsibilities:
  1. Initiate and complete technical activities leading to new or improved products, processes, or systems with significant program impact.
  2. Establish and maintain a network of resources (laboratory, manufacturing, engineering, sales, and marketing) to facilitate project completion.
  3. Participate in project planning, helping to establish objectives and priorities.
  4. Maintain awareness of quality improvements and product opportunities, actively suggesting and testing ideas.
  5. Conduct and lead inter-laboratory test method studies.
  6. Plan and lead quality system and process audits.
  7. Document results, observations, and conclusions in technical notebooks or approved electronic files and prepare reports for relevant personnel. May also train, counsel, and guide team members.
Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Must possess an accredited degree in a relevant field.
  2. Knowledge of quality systems such as Quality Manuals, ISO-9000, MBNQ, metrology, calibration, and audits.
  3. Proficiency in basic statistical tools including exploratory data analysis, basic statistics, and Gage R&R.
  4. Good understanding of Analysis of Variance, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Statistical Process Control, and Capability.
  5. Strong skills in process improvement and problem-solving methodologies.
  6. Effective project management skills.
  7. Ability to work effectively with suppliers, customers, and staff at all levels.
