Job Description

Hensall Co-op is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to become an integral member of our Quality team! The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for supporting the implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of quality-related systems, technologies, and programs within the Food Products Division. This is a full-time position.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot quality-related equipment, automated grading systems, and associated software
  • Support rollout, implementation and continuous improvement of quality and grading systems
  • Train receiving, probe, and grading staff on proper equipment operation and best practices
  • Provide remote and in-person technical support to quality and operational staff
  • Analyze quality and grading data accuracy against manual grading standards
  • Assist with calibration, testing, and optimization of quality and grading programsRun product samples through equipment to support programming, improvement, and system refinement
  • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides, SOPs, training materials, and technical documentation
  • Participate in quality investigations, product evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with QA, operations, and development teams
  • Track issues, resolutions, and performance trends to support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist in project coordination and completion activities related to automated grading expansion
  • Understand and follow all Hensall Co-op Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures
  • All other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
  • Knowledge of agricultural commodities, grain grading, pulse crops, or related agricultural quality systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and analytical thinking skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn and adapt to proprietary technology systems
  • Comfortable working independently and managing many priorities at once
  • Proficiency with computers and technical software systems
  • Experience in agricultural quality control, grading, seed, grain, or pulse operations
  • Experience with automated inspection systems, machine vision systems or laboratory equipment is preferred
  • Experience with data analysis and process improvement initiatives is preferred
  • Experience developing SOPs and training materials preferred
  • Technical support or systems implementation experience preferred
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in an agricultural setting is an asset
  • Valid G Driver's license
