Job Description
Hensall Co-op is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to become an integral member of our Quality team! The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for supporting the implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of quality-related systems, technologies, and programs within the Food Products Division. This is a full-time position.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot quality-related equipment, automated grading systems, and associated software
- Support rollout, implementation and continuous improvement of quality and grading systems
- Train receiving, probe, and grading staff on proper equipment operation and best practices
- Provide remote and in-person technical support to quality and operational staff
- Analyze quality and grading data accuracy against manual grading standards
- Assist with calibration, testing, and optimization of quality and grading programsRun product samples through equipment to support programming, improvement, and system refinement
- Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides, SOPs, training materials, and technical documentation
- Participate in quality investigations, product evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with QA, operations, and development teams
- Track issues, resolutions, and performance trends to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist in project coordination and completion activities related to automated grading expansion
- Understand and follow all Hensall Co-op Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures
- All other duties as assigned
- Knowledge of agricultural commodities, grain grading, pulse crops, or related agricultural quality systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail and analytical thinking skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn and adapt to proprietary technology systems
- Comfortable working independently and managing many priorities at once
- Proficiency with computers and technical software systems
- Experience in agricultural quality control, grading, seed, grain, or pulse operations
- Experience with automated inspection systems, machine vision systems or laboratory equipment is preferred
- Experience with data analysis and process improvement initiatives is preferred
- Experience developing SOPs and training materials preferred
- Technical support or systems implementation experience preferred
- Experience in an agricultural setting is an asset
- Valid G Driver's license
