Job Description

Contract type: Full Time (37.5 hours) - Permanent

Location: Leeds, Leeds International Study Centre

Salary: up to £25,063 per annum

The Progression & Engagement Officer's role is to support students' progression needs both face-to-face and online.

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of tutorial sessions, 1-1 support and guidance, establishing a programme of activities to help students develop skills and confidence outside the classroom in preparation for their transition to HE. This will require excellent people skills and a good level of administrative ability.

ABOUT THE ROLE
  1. Act as a personal tutor to deliver Academic Success tutorials and provide 1:1 personal development, academic, and progression counselling to students.
  2. Collaborate within the network to design and create learning materials around study skills, welfare topics, and employability for Academic Success tutorials.
  3. Update and maintain the virtual learning environment and embed digital learning technologies into delivery.
  4. Implement interventions related to attendance in a timely manner, in accordance with the Attendance Policy, and ensure accurate records.
  5. Track student performance, liaise with the academic team to identify intervention strategies, and maintain performance and progression records.
  6. Monitor, track, and report on student destination offers; refer students to the Extended Progression Team for assistance with alternative options if they do not meet progression requirements.
  7. Analyze VLE analytics and data on work completion to identify gaps and actions for students.
  8. Support students in managing their mental and physical health, liaising with the Student Wellbeing Team as needed.
  9. Ensure student records are accurate and up to date.
  10. Support the organization and delivery of wellbeing, enrichment, transition events.
  11. Manage reception and other student-facing environments, handle student queries via face-to-face, VLE, email, and phone, and coordinate with other functional areas.
  12. Assist in organizing registration, arrivals, induction, enrichment activities, and events, providing support to team members.
  13. Ensure timely communication and reporting to external stakeholders, including parents, sponsors, guardians, agents, and partner universities.
  14. Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including university departments and external partners.
  15. Participate in marketing activities, including visits and presentations, and contribute to marketing materials.
  16. Provide resources and support to other teams as needed.
  17. Perform general administrative duties for the center and cover for absent staff during peak periods.
  18. Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by the Senior Leadership Team.
ABOUT YOU
  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience demonstrating ability to work independently.
  2. Experience supporting students in an educational context.
  3. Experience organizing trips and visits, including risk assessments.
  4. Experience creating engaging content and delivering workshops.
  5. Experience working collaboratively with external partners.
  6. Experience facilitating student feedback mechanisms.
  7. Experience working in a regulated environment.
  8. Experience in customer service.
