Build38 is a cyber security start-up that takes care of securing mobile apps. We enable all sorts of solution providers (from car manufacturers to banks, from payment providers to identity providers) to deliver their mobile use cases in a secure manner. We already protect millions of Android and iOS endpoints with our SDK which, together with our cloud platform, provides the most comprehensive mobile app security solution in the market.

We are looking for an exceptional, self-directed Product Owner to drive and manage the delivery of our products. These products and services are built using the latest technologies and will be used by the developers and security experts of our customers, which are industry-leading companies worldwide.

As a Product Owner, your responsibilities will include understanding customer and developer needs, gathering requirements, defining release plans, working with marketing to create material for explaining the product to our customers as well as enabling the Sales team.

Here is a little taste of your challenge:

• Deeply understand the needs of current and target customers and developers through quantitative and qualitative customer research, in order to build products that meet the needs of both audiences.
• Passionately represent the voice of the customer and developer community to internal teams.
• Working with cross-functional teams and prioritize features and investments to get the maximum customer benefit.
• Own the product backlog and prioritize product enhancements, customer and internal requests by making smart judgment to get the highest value.
• Collaborate with the Scrum Team to deliver valuable product increments by proactively driving the epics, features and stories that clearly articulate desired product functionality.
• Manage features through their entire lifecycle, from requirements definition, to release and productive usage.
• Work with Product Marketing to create material that will be used by our customer-facing teams to clearly position our product and the benefits of new features.
• Keep up with industry trends, technology and competitors.

Who are you? There is no set route to become part of Build38. But to be successful in this role, this is the kind of profile we have in mind:

• At least 5 years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager. A solid understanding of the product development lifecycle and product management processes.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree or relevant experience in Computer Science, Technology or similar.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Customer-oriented thinking. You always have the customer / end user in mind when discussing new features and priorities.
• Familiarity with general programming languages and concepts. Experience building API-based SDKs and/or REST applications is preferred.
• Ideally, experience defining cybersecurity products.
• Understanding of software development industry standard frameworks (Agile, Design thinking, OKRs, etc) is also desirable.
• Great team player, comfortable working and collaborating with other team members to achieve common goals.
• Excellent prioritization skills. Ability to create a winning backlog and roadmap to achieve business goals while making difficult tradeoff decisions.
• Ability to make recommendations and decisions independently and make convincing arguments for the direction of the products.
• Passion for and ability to understand customer needs and deliver great solutions.
• Excellent communication. A track record of successfully working with a combination of development and QA team to deliver quality products.
• Influence and negotiation skills - ability to create a shared vision across multiple stakeholders and manage expectations.
• Strong organizational skills: task prioritization, effective time management, meeting facilitation, conflict resolution, and risk identification and mitigation.
• Self-motivation and ability to work autonomously with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable with change; agent of change when the need is recognized.
• Not constrained by role definition; contributes where ever needed to make Build38 a success.
