Job Description
Procurement Officer - 6 Month Contract (Temp to Perm Potential)- Hybrid/Stratford- Public Sector - CIPS required/studying/willing to study
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Officer for an initial 6 month assignment, with a strong likelihood of transitioning into a permanent role. This position plays a key part in leading complex tendering activity, managing supplier relationships and ensuring full compliance with UK procurement legislation. You will support colleagues across the organisation to deliver efficient, value driven procurement outcomes while maintaining high standards of governance, transparency and risk management.
In this role, you will develop and maintain the organisation's procurement strategy, policies and procedures, and support the delivery of a diverse procurement pipeline.
Responsibilities include preparing supplier engagement events, producing tender documentation, managing bidder clarifications, and coordinating evaluation and moderation sessions.
You will ensure procurement activity delivers measurable impact by embedding robust compliance and identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
The role also involves driving process development in line with evolving legislation, providing specialist advice on the Intend contract management module, maintaining the Contract Register, and conducting quarterly spend analysis to identify opportunities for cost effective procurement.
You will oversee corporate e tendering, participate in joint district and borough working groups, respond to Freedom of Information requests, and support the upkeep of procurement related website content.
All applicants must be CIPS qualified, currently studying, or willing to work towards the qualification.
