This is initially for a 6-month contract.
Role Purpose:
As a Process Chemist, you will design, develop, and optimise novel synthetic routes for active ingredients and key intermediates. You will conduct laboratory investigations to explore reaction mechanisms, conditions, and alternative pathways for chemical synthesis. Your expertise will be crucial in evaluating and optimising reaction parameters to establish robust and scalable synthetic processes.
What You'll Do:
- Plan & Execute: Develop efficient synthesis routes for target molecules, ensuring project objectives for yield, purity, cost, and sustainability are met.
- Experiment & optimise: Identify critical process parameters and optimise conditions through systematic experimentation and statistical design.
- Collaborate: Work closely with analytical chemistry, computational modelling, and process safety teams to characterise products and assess process hazards.
- Document & Report: Maintain comprehensive documentation of all experimental work in electronic lab notebooks, prepare technical reports, and present findings to project teams.
- Safety First: Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and regulatory requirements while handling hazardous materials and conducting chemical reactions.
What You Bring:
- Educational Background: A Master's or PhD in chemistry or equivalent industrial experience.
- Practical Skills: Excellent laboratory and analytical skills, with a strong foundation in chemistry and modern synthetic methodologies.
- Process Knowledge: Understanding of process chemistry principles and scale-up considerations.
- Statistical Expertise: Familiarity with DoE (Design of Experiments) and statistical analysis.
- Problem Solver: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to propose and evaluate multiple synthetic approaches.
- Team Player: Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Why Join Us?
