Are you an experienced Risk Manager with a strong track record in the 2nd line of defence? Our client is a respected institution with public sector funding in Central London seeking an Enterprise Risk & Controls Manager to join their team on a fixed-term contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and enhance enterprise risk practices in a complex, fast-paced environment-working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure robust governance, compliance, and risk oversight.

What We're Looking For:
. Proven experience as a dedicated Risk Manager operating within the 2nd line of defence.
. Strong expertise in risk and controls, with a solid understanding of enterprise risk frameworks.
. Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality risk reporting from a 2nd line perspective.
. Extensive experience working within the public sector, ideally in a regulated or publicly funded environment.
. In-depth knowledge of UK financial services and regulatory frameworks.
. Recognised risk management qualifications (eg, IRM, ISO 31000, or equivalent).
. Experience in audit, compliance, and internal controls.
. Strong stakeholder engagement skills, particularly at senior levels.
. Ability to lead and mentor a team of risk professionals.

* Public Sector background/industry experience is essential

What You'll Be Doing:
. Leading and evolving the organisation's Risk Management Framework, ensuring it remains proportionate, effective, and aligned with best practices.
. Acting as a trusted advisor to business units, embedding risk awareness and accountability across the organisation.
. Overseeing risk monitoring and controls, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
. Delivering insightful and actionable risk reporting to support executive decision-making.
. Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, with a focus on UK financial services.
. Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote a culture of risk excellence.
. Managing and developing a high-performing risk team.
