Principal Clinical Psychologist - Older People's Psychology Service

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) Older People's Psychology Service (OPPS) is advertising a Principal Clinical Psychologist position within East Dunbartonshire's Older People's Community Mental Health Team. The main base of operations is at Woodlands Resource Centre, Kirkintilloch, with clinic time also being spent in other clinics within East Dunbartonshire.
This post reports to an Operations Manager and a Consultant Clinical Psychologist within East Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership.
Please note all posts will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility according to Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship where these conditions are met.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern- Permanent post.
- Part time hours: 21.60 hrs per week.
- Working Monday Friday, 09 00 (3 days across the week to be negotiated).
- Based at Woodlands Mental Health Resource Centre, Waterloo Close, Kirkintilloch, G66 2HL.
- Salary is pro rata for part time hours.
- Member of a multidisciplinary mental health team (Psychiatry, Nursing, Occupational Health, Business Support).
- Provide specialist psychological therapies and neuro psychological assessment to older people across all care sectors.
- Deliver highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy, and advise and consult non psychologist colleagues and carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and team policies.
- Contribute to service development, audit and research priorities.
- Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge as a clinical psychologist, obtained through postgraduate doctoral level training accredited by the BPS or HCPC, covering:
- Models of psychopathology
- Clinical psychometrics
- Neuropsychology
- Two or more distinct psychological therapies
- Lifespan developmental psychology
- Formal training and supervised practice in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) across various presentations, supervised by a qualified clinical or counselling psychologist.
- Further post doctoral training, research, and study across a range of areas, including advanced clinical skills.
- Experience providing clinical placements and supervision to Trainee Clinical Psychologists in a Doctorate programme.
- Eligibility for training that meets university accreditation criteria.
- Post doctoral clinical experience to support this eligibility.
- Registration with the HCPC as a clinical or counselling psychologist.
