We're currently recruiting for a Primary Intervention Support Assistant to work within welcoming and supportive Primary Schools throughout Boldon, on both short-term and long-term assignments starting in September.

This role is ideal for qualified Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, Education graduates, and experienced intervention practitioners who are passionate about helping children reach their full potential through targeted academic support.

Your Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver targeted interventions in Reading, Writing and Maths across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

  • Support pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis to close learning gaps and boost attainment.

  • Work alongside class teachers to implement intervention programmes and individual learning plans.

  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

  • Adapt resources and learning activities to meet the needs of individual learners.

  • Support pupils' confidence, engagement and independence within the classroom.

  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a supportive learning environment.

Requirements
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, relevant education qualification, or a degree related to education, child development or a curriculum subject.

  • Previous experience delivering interventions within a Primary School setting.

  • Strong knowledge of the Primary curriculum, particularly English and Maths.

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

  • A proactive and nurturing approach to supporting children's learning.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience and the requirements of the assignment.
