Our Risk Settlement team continues to grow and we are now looking for an experienced Post-Transaction Lead to join our vibrant offices in Belfast, Manchester, Edinburgh, Reading, Bristol, London, Leeds or Guildford with hybrid working.

This is an exciting role and would most likely suit someone with previous experience in a similar role where they have gained knowledge and experience of Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes.

We undertake pensions administration for over one million members and provide advisory services to schemes and corporate sponsors in respect of schemes of all sizes, including 88 with assets over £1bn. We also provide wider ranging support to insurance companies in the life and bulk annuities sector.

The Role

As a Post-Transaction Lead with XPS you will:

  • Support Risk Settlement Broking team as needed during the buy-in and buyout process
  • Project manage and lead buy-in to buyout/wind-up projects efficiently and within budget
  • Liaise with and manage a range of internal and external stakeholders including Trustees, Sponsors along with their wider advisory teams
  • Build, develop and maintain relationships with insurers, independent trustees and legal firms
  • Contribute to new business initiatives, possibly as part of new business tenders and presentations
  • Prepare and deliver papers/advice to clients
Your profile

Essential Criteria

  • Significant DB pensions experience with a strong technical background
  • Some buy-in, buyout and wind-up experience and a good understanding of the key workstreams and their interactions
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills to all levels
  • Ability to influence, multi-task and respond to changing priorities
  • Able to take ownership and responsibility for own work
  • Flexible approach to work pressures
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong belief in adhering to deadlines and quality service
  • Effective interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and build long-term working relationships at all levels, both internal and external of the organisation

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in project-based work is desirable
  • Proficient in use of MS Project
  • Advanced MS Excel capabilities
