Platform Engineer

We're working with a forward-thinking SaaS company in Ghent who are seeking a Platform Infrastructure Engineer to optimize the backbone of its renewable energy platform. They're aiming to accelerate the transition to clean energy for large-scale business across the Benelux.

You will be responsible for designing and maintaining scalable data infrastructure to support a high-performance SaaS platform. This role requires deep expertise in Kubernetes, as well as experience in data or infrastructure engineering. You will work closely with software engineers and data teams to ensure a resilient, high-availability environment for real-time data processing.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage scalable, cloud-native infrastructure for data pipelines and Storage
• Deploy and optimize Kubernetes clusters for efficient resource management
• Ensure high security of data infrastructure
• Work with Kafka to build real-time data streaming capabilities
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment using GIT-based CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with software and data engineers to optimize performance
• Leverage Google Cloud (GCP) services for cloud-based data solutions

Your profile

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer
• Strong hands-on expertise in Kubernetes (deployment, scaling, monitoring)
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud (GCP)
• Familiarity with Kafka for real-time data streaming
• Knowledge of GIT and CI/CD best practices
• Ability to optimize infrastructure for high performance and cost efficiency
• A passion for renewable energy and sustainable technology (a plus!)
