Permanent Consultant Neuroradiologist - North Midlands

National Locums is working on behalf of an NHS trust based in Hampshire, seeking a Consultant in Radiology with an interest in Neuroradiology.

The Radiology department, part of an NHS trust in the North Midlands, is looking for a Consultant in Neuroradiology to join on a permanent or NHS fixed-term basis.

The team comprises 7 Neuroradiologists within a busy, dynamic department of 48 WTE radiology consultants, providing emergency and non-acute services. They are a level 1 Trauma Centre supporting the acute stroke mechanical thrombectomy service 24/7. The ideal candidate will be involved in acute imaging and support a network of regional services.

Current services include advanced imaging for trauma, oncology, stroke, spine, dementia, ENT, and Max Fax. Support from clinical scientists enhances MRI capabilities for brain tumors, stroke, etc. Planned developments include thyroid nodule US-guided microwave ablation.

Equipment includes:

• 8 CT scanners
• 7 MR scanners (including 3 3T scanners, with one dedicated to neuro imaging such as functional MRI, spectroscopy, and DTI)
• 1 biplane fluoroscopy suite for neuro intervention and 2 single-plane vascular intervention suites
• 25 ultrasound rooms

• GMC license to practice
• NHS experience in Head and Neck Radiology
• Specialist registration in Radiology (essential for permanent positions)
