Job Description
Here at TrustedHousesitters, we're on a mission to make travel work better for pets, for their people, and for the global community of animal lovers who look after them. We've got big plans on becoming the world's most-loved travel solution for pet people. We've built something pretty special: a trusted place where pet owners and sitters connect to keep pets happy at home while their humans explore the world.
We've already grown into a global community with members in over 140 countries, a product people genuinely love, and a team of more than 100 brilliant humans powering it all.
But we're only just getting started. Our goal? To grow to 1 million members and make TrustedHousesitters the world's most-loved travel solution for pet people.
At the moment, a sit starts every two minutes somewhere on the planet. We want that to be every single minute and we know the only way we'll get there is with the right people in the right roles.
The right people in the right roles will shape our future. So, here's the big question: Could that be you?
£60,000 - £65,000 a year
The Role We're looking for a proactive, pragmatic People Partner to join us on a fixed-term basis at a pivotal part of our scaling journey.
Working closely with the Senior People Partner, you'll play a pivotal role in driving the HRBP model deeper into a fully-remote scale-up. You'll strengthen line manager capability, while partnering with the wider team to embed our capability frameworks as we move to a High Performance model.
You'll also pick up ER casework as and when required, providing practical support to line managers and employees. Reporting to the Senior People Partner, you'll be a trusted point of contact across the business while getting stuck into the initiatives that shape how we work.
This is a great opportunity for a People Partner who's ready to bring strong partnering skills that drive immediate positive outcomes.
In pursuit of this you will ideally draw upon a blend of established and newer HRBP practice, to a purpose-led, fully-remote scale-up.
What you'll be doing People Partnering & Projects:
Trust, transparency, and honest feedback aren't just things we say; they're genuinely how we operate, every day. So rather than leaving you guessing if things don't work out, we'd rather give you what you need to make a great decision upfront about whether this opportunity is right for you.
With that in mind, here are a few things worth considering before you hit apply:

The Role We're looking for a proactive, pragmatic People Partner to join us on a fixed-term basis at a pivotal part of our scaling journey.
Working closely with the Senior People Partner, you'll play a pivotal role in driving the HRBP model deeper into a fully-remote scale-up. You'll strengthen line manager capability, while partnering with the wider team to embed our capability frameworks as we move to a High Performance model.

- Work alongside the Senior People Partner to fully embed the HRBP (People Partnering) model across our functions in a fully-remote, scale-up environment.
- Build on our existing frameworks, leading the design, delivery and continuous improvement of line manager training, building manager capability and confidence across a fully-remote team.
- Support the development and roll out of capability frameworks (including feedback models, ways of working & role capabilities) as we move towards a High Performance model.
- Partner with the Senior People Partner and other key stakeholders on people initiatives that improve organisational health, performance and manager capability.
- Support the delivery of people programmes such as the performance cycle and engagement initiatives, and contribute to DEI, culture and wellbeing initiatives as they come up across the business.
- Pick up ER casework as and when required, providing timely, pragmatic support to managers and employees through investigation processes and outcomes.
- Support managers through disciplinary and grievance processes as they arise.
- Provide guidance on day to day employee matters such as flexible working requests and reasonable adjustments.
- Stay on top of employment law changes, helping ensure our processes, templates and contracts remain compliant and up to date.
- Support People Operations with creation of reporting dashboards for our People Metrics
- Support with core HR admin, such as outcome letters following formal processes
- Work closely with the People Operations and People Experience teams to share People insights, support cross-functional projects and promote best practice
- Offer support to ESG Lead on People & Governance requirements of B-Corp renewal
- Experience in a People Partner or HRBP role, ideally within a fully-remote, fast-paced scale up.
- Understanding and hands on experience of embedding the HRBP model within a People Function, ideally within a start up or scale up environment.
- Comfortable leading or supporting on disciplinary and grievance investigations.
- Solid knowledge of UK employment law, HR policy and best practice.
- Confident advising and building relationships with managers and employees at all levels.
- A genuine interest in connecting people initiatives to wider business goals, with a naturally curious, solutions focused mindset - particularly around manager capability and High Performance.
- Highly organised and detail oriented, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to balance pragmatism with empathy and a strong sense of fairness.
- Experience working in a fully-remote environment, ideally within a scale up moving towards a High Performance culture.
- CIPD Level 3 or 5 qualified (or equivalent hands on experience).
- Experience using HRIS platforms (we use Humaans) and Google Workspace is a plus.
- You need the process mapped out before you'll move - we're still writing the playbook, not handing you one
- You want policy to be black and white - we're working with humans meaning we often work in the grey, and we trust you to use judgement, not just the rulebook
- You like everything scoped before you start - here, you'll often be figuring it out as you go
- You're looking for a People Partnering machine to step into - you'd be one of the people building it
- You do your best thinking alone - we're a small team, and we lean on each other and value collaboration and input
- You want a market with the rules already written - we're creating something that hasn't existed before, so uncertainty comes with the territory
- You need the buzz of an office to feel like you're at work - this role is genuinely remote, so you'll need to bring your own momentum
- You like things to stay still - priorities shift fast here, and we need you to shift with them
- Fixed-term contract, 14-18 months
- Reports to: Senior People Partner
- Salary: Up to £65,000, depending on experience
- Ideal start date: mid-September 2026
