Role: Payroll Subject Matter Expert (SME) - UK Payroll on SAP

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead UK payroll operations using SAP. The ideal candidate will:

• Provide expert guidance on payroll processes, systems, and UK compliance
• Ensure accurate and timely payroll execution, troubleshoot system and data issues
• Act as the primary contact for payroll-related queries and compliance assurance
• Conduct comprehensive SAP system setup reviews and manage complex reconciliations
• Design and execute test scenarios to support payroll system updates and changes

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing (UK)
• Compliance monitoring and implementation
• SAP payroll system management and configuration
• Testing and validation of payroll changes and upgrades
• Client support and issue resolution
• Process improvement and automation initiatives
• Documentation of payroll procedures and training support
• Cross-functional collaboration
• Payroll reporting and analysis

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of UK payroll principles, tax, and statutory requirements
• Expert proficiency in SAP Payroll (UK configuration and processing)
• Analytical thinking and complex problem-solving abilities
• Clear and confident communication skills
• High attention to detail and data accuracy
• Effective time management and prioritization

Experience Required

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in UK Payroll processing
• Minimum 5 years of SAP UK Payroll experience, including compliance testing
• Experience in a client-facing payroll advisory/support role
• CPP certification is a strong plus
