The Young People Legal Team is a busy and dynamic team within Warwickshire Legal Services consisting of approximately 40 employees. The team provides outstanding legal support to our Children's Services' Teams across Warwickshire on a range of child protection matters, as well as undertaking work for other Local Authorities.
About the roleWe are looking to recruit a Paralegal to work within our Court Team and who will provide support to our Solicitors and Legal Assistants on a variety of child protection cases. Your responsibilities will include preparing bundles, assisting Legal Assistants with requesting evidence and other routine legal matters, and ensuring that our case management system is kept up to date in line with our Lexcel Accreditation. You may occasionally be required to attend court hearings to provide assistance to solicitors or counsel on more complex hearings and to take notes.
Key requirements- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure as part of a busy legal team and to react to unforeseen and urgent demands.
- Strong IT literacy and good organisational skills.
This is a fixed term position for a period of 6 months.
We are based at Shire Hall in Warwick but predominantly work from home. We provide a flexible, modern working environment, with the supporting technology that you would expect from a leading provider of legal services. You will be required to travel to our office in Warwick occasionally as and when the need arises, and at a minimum of one day per month.
