The team has also been involved with many of the market leading transactions relating to the Fintech sector, in conjunction with our Tier 1 Fintech practice.In a world of fast-moving regulatory change, we believe that it is critical to provide our clients with a joined-up service combining transactional experience with regulatory expertise. Our Structured Finance and Derivatives team works closely with lawyers in our market-leading financial regulatory practices through which we have been involved in leading industry initiatives affecting the international capital markets.The Trade Delivery Unit sits within our Structured Finance team, which forms part of a new firm-wide work delivery unit (the " Simmons Delivery Unit " or " SDU "), whose purpose is: the management and delivery of commoditised transactional and advisory work more efficiently and therefore more profitably, at all times utilising service excellence to deliver the work at a quality commensurate to the Simmons brand leading on the testing and adoption of AI and other available technology, using the scale of the SDU to test products and roll them out across practice areas internationally freeing up partner and associate resource to focus on premium work developing a pipeline of junior talent that is familiar with working with AI and cutting-edge tech to enable the individual practice groups to be able to expand in accordance with their individual business plansThe TDU is tasked with delivering those objectives in the context of our Structured Finance team. Main duties and responsibilities: Working closely with the partners and fee earners in the Structured Finance team in the UK and globally to provide assistance with the management and delivery of commoditised transactional and advisory work. Help the head of the TDU identify and embed process efficiencies in relation to the delivery of that work. Identify and test new technology tools available in the market or developed within the firm with a view to adopting those that show the greatest potential for creating efficiency gains or improving client service in the Structured Finance team. Providing general legal support to the Structured Finance team. Education / qualifications / experience: Graduate with a first or upper second class degree or equivalent. Previous paralegal experience or other relevant legal work experience advantageous but not essential. Knowledge and technical skills: Excellent IT skills, including Outlook, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel Previous legal database experience advantageous but not essential Language skills (particularly German, Italian or Spanish) advantageous but not essential. General Skills/Attributes: Highly organised and methodical approach to the role as well as confidence with IT systems and an interest in AI and its application in the workplace Attention to detail and the confidence to work independently Willingness to travel to London as required Highly motivated and commercially astute Excellent communication skills and a collegiate, team-based attitude The ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy Self-motivated, hardworking, reliable and works well under pressure Firm introduction: Simmons & Simmons is a leading international law firm.
