You will carry out work of routine and non-routine nature as directed by management.
Ensure compliance with Trust Safety Standard and Procedures.
Take all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment.
Each Gardener will have individual responsibilities for defined aspects of the service and will ensure that their contribution is beneficial to other departments within the Trust, as well as the Estates and Facilities Department to fulfil the Trust's overall objectives.
Main duties of the job- Interpret and work from all instructions, drawings and specifications appropriate to his trade without supervision.
- Painting and decorating all hospital property, internally and externally, to acceptable craft standards and using approved methods of working.
- Prepare working area in an efficient and organised manner. Remove all furniture, fittings and fixtures and re fix on completion.
- Wallpapering (including contract wide width), varnishing, wall washing, application of spray-applied finishes.
- Carry out minor wall repairs such as patch plastering.
- Grouting and repairing wall tiles, including using sealants.
- Transportation and erection of scaffolding and access equipment.
- Understand fully the inter relationship between Building and Engineering trades.

- Previous experience of working in a hospital.
- NHS experience.
- Good all round trade knowledge.
- Good craft skills.
- Good front of house skills.
- Can work with minimum supervision.
- People and team management skills in previous supervisor or team leader roles.
- Ability to understand and behave at all times, towards patients, visitors and colleagues, according to the Trust values of safe, kind, excellent.
