Nursery Manager

Contract: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week, Full Year)Salary: £34,500 FTE (dependent on experience)Hours: Between 7:30am and 6:30pm on a rota basisStart Date: July 2026

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Nursery Manager to lead our early years setting. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate childcare professional with strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding care and education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day management of the nursery.
  • Ensure high-quality care and learning in line with the EYFS.
  • Support, develop and manage the nursery team.
  • Maintain safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families and staff.
  • Oversee nursery administration, including staffing, records, funding and fees.
  • Monitor quality standards and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage admissions, nursery tours and transition arrangements.
  • Lead staff appraisals, supervision and professional development.
  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

Person Specification - Essential

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification.
  • Experience in a nursery management or senior leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of EYFS and early years legislation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience managing budgets.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.

Desirable

  • EYTS, Level 5 qualification or above.
  • DSL training.
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification.
  • Experience with learning journey software (e.g. Seesaw).
  • Knowledge of local authority funding.

Additional Information

  • Full-time, full-year position.
  • Appointment subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check.
