About this job

Thank you for considering a career with us at the Central Older Adults Community Mental Health Team, a vital part of the Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust.

We're excited about the prospect of having you join us and contribute to our mission of providing inclusive, compassionate care to our community, covering West Lancs.

An opportunity has arisen within West Lancs Memory Assessment Service for a Non-Medical Prescriber with at least 2 years' experience of working with service users as a Registered Nurse or Non-Medical Prescriber.

Community work experience or older adults experience would be an advantage.

Applicants must have obtained a qualification for Non-Medical Prescribing or must be undertaking the course at present with a view to qualify in 2026. The successful candidate will be part of an evolving service that has the needs of the older adult population at its heart.

The post holder must have excellent communication skills, good knowledge and understanding of Dementia and the prescribing of cholinesterase inhibitors.

We are looking for candidates, who have excellent clinical skills and knowledge and a positive approach towards people living well with dementia and other mental health needs.

Responsibilities

Clinically, you will have a caseload as named worker for patients who are currently under titration clinics for medication in relation to a Dementia diagnosis.

These would include physical health monitoring, risk management and reduction with service users and their carers/family.

You must be flexible in your approach with service users and have a knowledge of physical health.

The team is multi-disciplinary and works closely with other mental health service providers.

Professional Development

There are ample opportunities for professional development and regular supervision and support is in place.

We actively challenge discrimination and welcome applications from all, regardless of age, disability (including those with experience of accessing or caring for someone who has accessed mental health or learning disability services), ethnicity, gender, religion, belief, or sexual orientation.

Our aim is to reflect the communities we serve, so we particularly encourage applications from under represented groups.

We also welcome individuals with lived experience relevant to the role or service area, as your insight brings authenticity to our services.

Work Life Balance

LSCFT support flexible working, we believe that a positive work/life balance benefits NHS employees through improved health and wellbeing.

We would consider working patterns such as term time, part time, compressed hours and flexi time.

The wellbeing of our people is at the heart of everything we do.

We offer a wide range of resources, tools and support to help you thrive both in and out of work.
