Posted 1 day 19 hours ago by Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd
Are you tired of the same old boring night jobs? Well, look no further! We are seeking a proactive, personable, stay awake at night type of person. As our newest team member, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your unique personality and make a real impact on our young people and organisation.
What kind of person are we looking for? If you love working nights, keep busy during quiet shifts, and are always happy to talk and help people, you're off to a great start.
We are looking for a Night Worker (internally known as a Building Supervisor) to work in our supported accommodation building in Yate, which provides 24/7 housing and support for young people aged who were homeless or at risk of homelessness. This is a part time position: 3 nights per week on a rota basis (Thursday, Friday, Saturday). Shift: 12.25 hr (8 pm 8:15 am) with a 1 hr unpaid break. Casual bank shifts also available.
ResponsibilitiesYour focus will be to ensure that our buildings are safe and secure for our residents, acting as a point of contact and ensuring a safe and secure home. This involves liaising with support staff to ensure smooth handovers between shifts and maintaining open lines of communication. The role has a broad set of responsibilities, including:
- Being aware of who is on site
- Keeping the building clean, tidy and presentable
- Undertaking light maintenance duties
- Engaging with residents who may need someone to listen to them
- Defusing any situations that may affect the health, safety or well being of residents
- Conducting health and safety checks and walk arounds throughout your shift
- Using sound judgment to resolve situations or seek support from peers and emergency services if needed
- Demonstrating empathy and patience towards residents
There will be tailored, specific training that will help you advance through a training pathway and progress during your career at CCP. We promote Health, Wellbeing, Diversity, and inclusion in all our services and our staff, and you will help us to achieve this. Our close knit teams of Building Supervisors, Support Workers, and Project Managers deliver their support over a rota pattern.
Experience interacting with a diverse cross section of society would be useful in this role, but training and induction will be given. We look for people who are empathetic, driven, and able to motivate others; we recruit people that embrace opportunity and are willing to learn and reflect. We want people that can help CCP to transform lives.
