About the roleWe are seeking to appoint a Networks & Unified Communications Manager to join the IS Infrastructure and Delivery Team. In this key role, you will oversee Eurostar's network and unified communications systems, manage third-party providers, define service roadmaps, and serve as a subject matter expert in networking. Your responsibilities include ensuring systems are designed, implemented, and maintained to support business objectives, providing technical oversight, architectural expertise, and solutions for new initiatives.
Internal note: This role is an EIL Grade F, based at Kings Place or Brussels HQ.
Key responsibilities- Own the networking and unified communications services and products used by Eurostar.
- Lead management of service providers and solution vendors delivering services to Eurostar.
- Provide technical expertise to develop strategies for voice, data, and mobile network infrastructure, including SDWAN, LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, Voice Systems, Voice Recording, Circuits, 4G/5G networks, and operational control communication platforms.
- Maintain and communicate the network & communications systems roadmap, liaising with project teams for planning and budgeting.
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical designs for implementation.
- Review licensing and maintenance agreements to ensure optimal licensing, maintenance, and timely renewals.
- Provide technical direction and leadership during major enterprise system outages, incidents, or problems.
- Engage with peers and stakeholders to identify opportunities and implement improvements through new technologies and working methods.
- Manage team workloads, motivate team members, and support their development to stay current with emerging technologies.
- Degree or equivalent in an Information Technology subject.
- Qualifications including Cisco Technical accreditation, ITIL v4, TOGAF, and Prince2.
- Significant experience in a similar role.
- Line management experience, with the ability to lead, motivate, and handle personnel issues.
- Experience managing third-party relationships and collaborations.
- Proactive attitude, focused on achieving outcomes and removing blockers.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and a growth mindset.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing demands.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent personal organization and productivity skills.
- Excellent English communication skills; French fluency is an advantage.
