MES Tech Lead

Our client is a global manufacturing organisation advancing its MES landscape across multiple sites. You will join a product-focused team that blends development, support, and integration to ensure stable and efficient production systems.
As the MES Tech Lead, you will provide technical leadership across MES workflows, integrations, and shop-floor systems. You will collaborate with architects, business teams, and vendors to drive system reliability while guiding the team through development and AMS support activities.
Responsibilities:- Understand MES inbounds/outbounds, PCS interactions, and dependencies with surrounding applications.
- Lead development and support workflows across complex manufacturing systems.
- Learn the application landscape, business logic, and end-to-end production processes.
- Collaborate with architects and cross-functional teams to design, integrate, and optimise MES solutions.
- Guide the team on AMS support, escalation handling, and best-practice troubleshooting.
- Work flexibly in shifts with occasional weekend availability for critical escalations.
- Travel across NL, BE, FR, DE, and the UK (approx. 20%, a few days every 2 months).
- Maintain a composed, balanced approach when facing operational challenges.
Required Skills:
- 12+ years in development and integrations within a manufacturing production environment.
- Experience with MES applications, workflow automation/orchestration tools, and plant IT integrations.
- Understanding of Savigent workflows (Scan & Move, RCV).
- Basic SAP functional knowledge (PP/MM/QM).
- Integration experience with APIs, message queues, or shop-floor systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical mindset, and structured problem-solving.
- Development background in VB, .NET, C#, with full SDLC involvement.
- Familiarity with MS SQL Server, log analysis, and PL/SQL.
- Fluent English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of labeling systems, traceability, or shop-floor operations.
- Experience in MES/MOM environments and product-team delivery models.
- Exposure to DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, Git).
