Job Description
Job responsibilities
  • Lead on complex and sensitive Medical HR matters, including MHPS cases, job planning disputes, grievances and other ER activity.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior medical leaders and clinical managers.
  • Manage investigations, hearings and appeals, ensuring compliance with NHS terms and conditions, employment law and Trust policy.
  • Provide expert interpretation of consultant contracts, medical TCS, job planning frameworks and national guidance.
  • Promote a fair, inclusive and just culture across medical workforce processes.
  • Support HR digital transformation, champion HR systems and use data and analytics to drive improvement.
  • Contribute to policy development, training for medical leaders and continuous improvement across the Medical Hub.
  • Supervise and coach Medical HR Advisors, supporting their development.
  • Represent Medical HR in meetings, governance forums and employment tribunals when required.
Qualifications
  • Experience of Medical HR, ER casework or HR advisory roles.
  • Understanding of medical terms and conditions (desirable).
  • Confidence managing sensitive and complex issues.
  • Effective communication, influencing and coaching skills.
  • A strong commitment to fairness, inclusion and high quality HR practice.
  • A proactive, solutions focused approach.
