Job Summary

This is a key civic facing role supporting the Mayor of Slough Borough Council and ensuring effective delivery of the Council's civic and mayoral responsibilities.

As part of the Leader and Civic Office, you will provide high quality administrative, organisational and diary support to the Mayor, acting as the first point of contact for the Mayor's Office and representing the Mayor when managing enquiries.

You will play a central role in the planning, coordination and delivery of civic events and ceremonies, ensuring protocol, tradition and good governance are upheld.

Responsibilities
  • Provide diary and administrative support to the Mayor.
  • Act as the first point of contact for the Mayor's Office and represent the Mayor when managing enquiries.
  • Plan, coordinate and deliver civic events and ceremonies.
  • Ensure protocol, tradition and good governance are upheld in all activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships across the organisation and with elected members, partner organisations and the wider community.
Qualifications
  • Calm under pressure, proactive, diplomatic and exceptionally well organised.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage confidently with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results.
  • Previous experience in a similar administrative or support role is desirable but not essential.
