Job Description
Job Overview 
Lead Maths Tutor - fully remote online teaching role delivering high quality Maths education to young people with SEND and other special educational needs. The role is based fully remote, with no requirement to deliver from a central office, giving you flexibility to work from home.
Key Responsibilities- Shape and deliver engaging Maths lessons that build understanding, confidence and resilience.
- Design and deliver high impact online lessons that are practical, interactive and brought to life.
- Adapt lessons in real time, using subject expertise to make Maths accessible, relevant and achievable.
- Develop interactive digital resources and support the ongoing refinement of the online platform.
- Collaborate with education and clinical colleagues to create a calm, safe, aspirational learning environment.
- Assess progress, use data to inform teaching and support outcomes.
- Maintain high expectations and positive behaviour standards while building trusting relationships.
- Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent) with strong Maths expertise at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable).
- Experience delivering engaging, high quality teaching, ideally within online or digital settings.
- Confidence working with common end user applications.
- Proven ability to design and adapt curriculum content into interactive, accessible learning resources.
- Strong understanding of pupils with SEND, SEMH or those disengaged from mainstream education.
- Confidence in assessing progress and using data to inform teaching and support outcomes.
- Ability to build trusting relationships while maintaining high expectations and positive behaviour standards.
- A collaborative, reflective approach and unwavering commitment to safeguarding and educating the whole child.
- Resilient, adaptable and not easily phased.
- Calm with ability to manage challenge and build trust.
- Clear boundary setting balanced with warmth and consistency.
- Energy and creativity for online learning.
- Ability to engage pupils who may be disengaged or resistant.
- Reflective, innovative, commitment to safeguarding.
- Support for the whole child, not just academics.
- Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum.
- Term time role - work required for 2 additional weeks during school holidays.
