Job Description

Milk Education is working with a number of welcoming and supportive Primary Schools across Durham and Teesside and is looking to recruit passionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistants to join schools from September 2026.

You'll play a key role in supporting teachers and pupils across the Primary age range, helping deliver engaging learning, supporting pupils with additional needs and contributing to a positive classroom environment where every child can succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teachers in delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.
  • Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
  • Lead or support targeted interventions to improve pupil progress.
  • Support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Promote positive behaviour and pupil engagement.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress where required.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, HLTAs and the wider school team.
  • Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
  • Relevant Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working within a Primary School setting.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisation and teamwork skills.
  • Confident supporting learning on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
  • Patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach.
  • Passion for helping children reach their full potential.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
