Job Description

Location: Bolton Salary: £112.50 per day Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full Academic Year (Long-Term Opportunity) Educato Recruitment are proud to be working with a highly regarded specialist secondary school in Bolton, seeking a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team from September.

The Role
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support throughout the school day.
  • Support pupils both in the classroom and during practical and vocational lessons.
  • Help pupils develop communication, emotional regulation and social skills.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual EHCP outcomes.
  • Encourage independence while providing consistent support where required.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils who may present with additional behavioural or communication needs.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff to deliver high-quality support.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable.
  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism, SEMH, MLD, SLD or communication needs is highly advantageous.
  • Calm, resilient and able to remain positive in challenging situations.
  • Confident using initiative and adapting to the individual needs of pupils.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
