The Wildlife and Conservation Management team at SRUC is dedicated to equipping students with the skills and knowledge needed to address modern environmental and biodiversity challenges.

Combining academic expertise with practical field experience, the team delivers an applied curriculum that integrates classroom learning with hands on work across Scotland's diverse landscapes.

Through strong partnerships with industry, conservation organisations, and government bodies, the team ensures teaching remains relevant and career focused.

With an emphasis on sustainability, ethical land use, and real-world conservation practice, they inspire students to become skilled professionals and responsible stewards of the natural environment.

The Opportunity

SRUC is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Wildlife & Conservation Management team at our Barony Campus.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ecologist or conservation professional who is passionate about both their field and developing the next generation of practitioners.

The successful candidate will bring experience in habitat management, ecological surveying, and practical conservation, alongside a genuine enthusiasm for supporting students in building these essential skills.

Applicants should demonstrate a strong understanding of current issues in wildlife and conservation management, with practical expertise in ecology and field-based techniques.

Knowledge of data analysis, GIS/remote sensing, and conservation management practices is desirable.

Experience in education, research, or upland conservation management would be advantageous.

You will contribute to a dynamic, applied teaching environment, helping to inspire and equip students for careers in the environmental sector.

Minimum Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold an MSc and an associated undergraduate degree in a conservation, wildlife, countryside management, or environmental management discipline.
