A welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Harlow is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child within an Early Years class. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact during a crucial stage of a child's development.

About the Role

In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil in the Early Years setting. You will help the child access learning activities, support their development through play-based learning, and encourage positive engagement with classroom routines and activities.

This role is ideal for someone who is patient, nurturing, and passionate about supporting young children's development.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing consistent 1:1 support for a child within an Early Years classroom
• Assisting the child in accessing learning through play-based activities and structured tasks
• Supporting the child's social, emotional, and communication development
• Encouraging participation and independence within the classroom environment
• Helping to maintain a safe, positive, and engaging learning space
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support the child's individual needs
• Observing and reporting on the child's progress and development

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds a Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare (essential)
• Experience working with children within Early Years or nursery settings
• A patient, caring, and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with young children
• A genuine passion for supporting children's early development
