Job Description

Main duties of the job
  • In this senior role, you will lead the delivery of high quality clinical pharmacy services across our hospital sites, providing expert clinical input and ensuring safe, effective and patient centred medicines optimisation.
  • You will guide and support Band 6-7 pharmacists, oversee service delivery, and drive standards through strong clinical leadership. You will play a key role in service improvement, governance, audits and implementation of best practice, while contributing to multidisciplinary decision making and influencing safe prescribing.
  • As an advanced clinical practitioner, you will manage complex cases, participate in ward based activities and act as a senior point of expert advice.
  • To succeed, you will bring advanced clinical reasoning, excellent communication skills, the ability to lead and inspire teams, and confidence in managing change within a fast paced acute setting. Job responsibilities

Person Specification Education
  • MPharm or equivalent
  • GPhC registration
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent
  • Leadership or management training
  • Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
Experience
  • Post qualification experience of working in a UK hospital; this must include a solid grounding in all aspects of hospital pharmacy
  • Experience supervising or line managing staff
  • Evidence of QI, audit and service development work
  • Experience influencing prescribing and MDT clinical decisions
  • Significant post registration experience including advanced clinical practice
  • Practical experience with an electronic in-patient prescribing system (Cerner)
  • Experience of using Quality Improvement tools in practical environment
  • Implementing change as a result of audit or service evaluation
Skills
  • Advanced clinical decision making and problem solving
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop teams
