Kitchen Assistant - Colonia Court Care Home

Location: St Andrew's Ave, Colchester CO4 3AN
Contract type: Permanent
Salary: £12.75 - £13.75 per hour
Hours: 24 hours per week
Working pattern: Shifts on a rota basis between 7am - 6:30pm, including alternate weekends

Responsibilities

• Act as the link between the main kitchen and our residents
• Assist the chefs to plate meals, prepare food trolleys and ensure all preparation areas are kept clean and tidy
• Monitor stock rotation, comply with company policies and procedures, and follow all mandatory COSHH and HACCP guidelines
• Assist with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties

Qualifications

• Passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
• Ability to deliver excellent service at each meal and make residents feel at home
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with wider kitchen and care home teams
